Non-Dischargeable Debts

Certain debts are not discharged with either a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Some of the non-dischargeable debts are:
- Back child support and other family support debts
- Debts from personal injury as the result of a DUI
- Student loans (in some circumstances)
- Criminal restitution and traffic tickets
Note these are just some of the non-dischargeable debts. Below are some that a creditor may ask a judge to deem non-dischargeable:
- Debts as a result of fraud
- Debts as a result of embezzlement or larceny
- Debts as a result of a divorce decree or settlement (Other conditions apply.)
Due to growth in my other practice areas I am no longer taking new Bankruptcy clients. However, The Law Office of Colby J. Leonard, will gladly handle your bankruptcy needs and may also be able to offer a non-bankruptcy solution such as a debt settlement. Mr. Leonard is also experienced with handling IRS debts. Mr. Leonard meets with clients here at my convenient Muncie office and he maintains other remote offices as well. Please contact his offices directly if you would like to consult further with Mr. Leonard. www.cleonardlaw.com
Note: If any of this is confusing or you'd feel better talking to someone, give the law offices of B. Joseph Davis a call or contact us online to set-up a time for a consultation.
